TACOMA, WA - The Rainiers outscored the Aces 4-2 over the last three innings, but early home runs from Reno doomed Tacoma as they fell 6-4 in the series finale Tuesday night at Cheney Stadium. Catcher Cal Raleigh made his return to the lineup without missing a beat as he went 2-for-5 with a home run, two runs, and an RBI in the contest.

Reno (35-19) opened the scoring in the 3rd when Aces first baseman Drew Ellis took southpaw David Huff (1-2) deep to left for a three-run blast. The following inning third baseman Juniel Querecuto tacked on one more run for Reno with a big fly of his own, extending their advantage to 4-0.

Querecuto struck again in the 6th inning as his line drive single scored catcher Jamie Ritchie from second base. Huff finished out the inning before being relieved by righty Erik Swanson. His final line read six innings, five runs (four earned), two walks, and five strikeouts.

Tacoma (28-24) fought back in the bottom half of the 6th as they notched two runs. Left fielder Eric Filia capped off the rally with an RBI double to bring the Rainiers within three.

Reno tallied another run via the long ball in the ensuing inning thanks to center fielder Jake McCarthy's blast. The Aces lead grew to 6-2.

In his first game since July 2, catcher Cal Raleigh announced his presence in the 8th when he crushed the first pitch he saw over the right field fence to lead off the inning. Right fielder Luis Liberato added fuel to the Rainiers comeback hopes when he poked a broken-bat single into center field and brought first baseman José Marmolejos to the plate.

The Rainiers brought the winning run to the plate in the 9th inning, but the score remained 6-4 as shortstop Donovan Walton was caught stealing third base for the final out of the evening.

Aces right hander Ryan Weiss (1-0) earned the victory as he pitched scoreless 4th and 5th innings.

The Rainiers will have Wednesday off, and then begin a new series at Sugar Land on Thursday. First pitch is scheduled for 5:05 p.m. PT at Constellation Field.
