Rainiers Bats Go Quiet In 7-1 Loss To Grizzlies

TACOMA, Wash. - The Tacoma Rainiers (50-43) saw their five-game win streak snapped in a 7-1 loss against the Fresno Grizzlies (53-39) on Saturday night at Cheney Stadium.

Right fielder John Andreoli paced the Tacoma offense by reaching base three times on a 1-for-2, two-walk performance. Second baseman Adam Law went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, the second dinger of his Triple-A career. First baseman Daniel Vogelbach (1x3, BB) reached base twice.

Rainiers starting pitcher Williams Perez lasted just four inning for Tacoma before being lifted due to an injury - he allowed five runs (four earned) on six hits while striking out three with no walks. Williams took the loss and moved to 2-1 on the year.

Tucker Healy (2.0 IP) relieved Perez and allowed two runs on three hits with one walk and a pair of strikeouts. Daniel Schlereth (1.0 IP) and Ryan Garton (2.0 IP) combined to hold the Grizzlies scoreless over the final three frames - the duo walked one and struck out five while allowing just one hit.

The Rainiers and Grizzlies wrap up their series on Sunday afternoon at 1:35 p.m. PT. Tacoma has not yet named a starting pitcher - Fresno will call upon right-hander Brady Rodgers (0-0, -.--).
