Sioux Falls Canaries News Release
Sioux Falls, SD - One day after the Sioux Falls Canaries and Sioux City Explorers played a doubleheader to make-up a game postponed by rain on August 6, the Birds and Explorers again felt the wrath of Mother Nature. With two innings of baseball in the books, a rain storm moved in and halted Saturday night's game, with the Canaries leading by a score of 1-0 heading into the third inning.
The Birds got their run in the second inning, when Patrick Reilly hit his fifth home run of the 2009 season, an opposite field shot over the wall in left.
Saturday's game will be picked up in the top of the third inning, on Sunday afternoon at 1:05 p.m. After completing Saturday's contest, the Canaries and Explorers will play Sunday's regularly scheduled game, which has now been shortened to seven innings. Sunday's promotions at the Birdcage will feature "Let's Make A Deal: A Tribute to Classic Game Shows" and "Two Dead Fat Guys."
