Rain Postpones Friday's Contest in Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG, Va. - Friday's game between the Myrtle Beach Pelicans and Lynchburg Hillcats has been postponed due to rain. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m. on Saturday. The finale of Saturday's doubleheader will begin no earlier than 6 p.m.

The Pelicans will be playing in their sixth doubleheader of the season in Saturday's twin bill. The Birds are 4-6 so far in doubleheader contests this season.

Both contests of Wednesday's doubleheader will be seven innings in length. RHP Cory Abbott (1-1, 4.50 ERA) starts for the Birds in the twin bill opener, with RHP Casey Bloomquist (2-0, 1.80 ERA) getting the nod in the finale.
