CHARLESTON, SC - Following a 60-minute delay, Thursday night's South Atlantic League game between the Charleston RiverDogs and the Delmarva Shorebirds was cancelled due to heavy rain in the Lowcountry.

The game will not be made up because there are no more scheduled meetings between the teams.

It marks the RiverDogs' second home rainout of the season.

Fans holding tickets for Thursday's game may exchange those tickets at the Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park Box Office for one of equal or lesser value to any 2009 regular season game based on availability.

Charleston begins the second half of their eight-game homestand with a four-game set against the Lakewood BlueClaws, an affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies. With the series opener set for Friday at 7:05 p.m. RiverDogs manager Torre Tyson turns to right-hander Cory Arbiso (4-7, 3.88 ERA) while BlueClaws skipper Dusty Wathan is scheduled to counter with righty Jesus Sanchez (8-6, 3.77 ERA).

Prior to the game's first pitch, four individuals will be enshrined in the Charleston Baseball Hall of Fame. John Dodds, Jr., W.S. "Bull" Durham, Donald Morillo and Dug Pounder comprise the Class of 2009.
