RailCats Acquire Shah, Rolon from Lincoln

GARY, Ind. - Manager Greg Tagert announced today that the RailCats have acquired outfielder Asif Shah and pitcher Alberto Rolon from the Lincoln Saltdogs in exchange for reliever David Quinowski and outfielder Matt Forgatch.

Shah, 26, was hitting .288 with three home runs and 20 RBI in 64 games with the Saltdogs. He was the team leader with 19 doubles.

The right-handed Rolon is a pitcher out of Yuba City, California. He has no record in only two appearances with the Saltdogs, posting a 16.20 ERA in 6.2 innings. Rolon, 27, also pitched for the St. Paul Saints earlier in the season where he was 2-4 with a 6.63 ERA in 11 starts.

Quinowski, a left-handed reliever, had a 3-1 record in Gary with a 2.08 ERA and one save in 20 appearances. Forgatch was acquired from Laredo in a trade on July 7th, played in 11 games with the RailCats, hitting three home runs and driving in nine runs with a .216 average.

Shah and Rolon will be in uniform tonight as the RailCats take on Fargo-Moorhead at 6:10 PM. The roster currently stands at the league maximum 22.
