LAST TIME OUT: Colin Murray had a goal and an assist and Jeff Jones scored on the power play but the Rail Yard Dawgs defense faltered and they lost to the Peoria Rivermen, 8-2, Friday night at Carver Arena.

ONE TO FORGET: Friday's 8-2 loss represented the largest margin of defeat for the Dawgs this season, equaled the most goals given up and their 18 shots on goal were the second-fewest in a game this season. Roanoke had previously surrendered eight goals in a, 8-5 loss to Fayetteville on October 26 and had four times prior lost by three goals.

HE'S HOT: Jeff Jones' third-period goal was his 15th of the season- he now leads the Rail Yard Dawgs in goals. Jones has recorded goals in four of his last five and points in five of his last six games. In 101 career SPHL games, Jones has 40 goals. During the 2016-17 season he played 39 games for Peoria and notched 19 goals and 15 assists.

ANOTHER BRIGHT SPOT: Colin Murray had a goal and an assist on Friday, the fifth time this season he has had a multi-point game. He is tied with Jordan Carvalho for the most multi-point games by a Rail Yard Dawg this season. Murray is second on the team with 14 goals and tied with Carvalho for the team lead with 33 points. He has recorded points in four straight and ten of his last 12 games.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN: Saturday is the third of 11 consecutive games the Rail Yard Dawgs will play away from home ice. It is also the second of four games in five nights for the Dawgs. Roanoke is 7-8-2 on the road this season and 13-10-1 at home. The Dawgs are 0-2-0 on the current road swing. Of their 15 remaining regular season games, 11 will come on the road and four will be played at home.

TOUGH PLACE TO PLAY: Peoria has been outstanding on home ice; the Rivermen are now 16-0-2 and the only team in professional hockey not to lose in regulation at home this season. All three of the Dawgs' games against Peoria will come on the road as the Rivermen do not visit Berglund Center this season.

SAME FACES, DIFFERENT JERSEYS: The Rail Yard Dawgs roster is littered with players who formerly skated for Peoria. Forwards Jordan Carvalho, Jeff Jones, Cody Dion, injured forward Eric Witzel and called-up winger Michael Economos are all former Rivermen. Dawgs head coach Dan Bremner also played his final three seasons for Peoria and was the captain for his last two.

UP NEXT: Roanoke and Peoria will finish their season series on Sunday afternoon. Puck drop is scheduled for 3:05 PM CST at Carver Arena.
