Evan Schultz Scores First Goal as Bolt in Loss to Storm
February 23, 2019 - SPHL (SPHL)
Evansville Thunderbolts News Release
It's been a rocky start to Evan Schultz's stint as an Evansville Thunderbolt, as he was injured in his very first game since being acquired from the Birmingham Bulls. Back in action this weekend, he did just as he was brought in to do, provide offense, scoring his first Evansville goal in a 3-1 loss to Quad City.
Schultz's goal came with 1:47 to go in the game, on the power play from Scott Donahue and Frank Schumacher. Evansville scored a power play goal in each game this weekend, while the penalty kill went a perfect 9-for-9, including a major power play tonight, only allowing a single shot on goal in the five minutes. Ed Minney stood out once again making plenty of saves, stopping 32 out of 35 shots.
The Thunderbolts return to action on Thursday, February 28th, as they host the Pensacola Ice Flyers at the Ford Center. Puck drops at 6:15pm CT. Tickets can be purchased online at EvansvilleThunderbolts.com, or in person at the Ford Center Box Office.
