LAST TIME OUT: Colin Murray scored twice, Steve Mele and Daniel Vernace each had a goal and an assist and Matt Zenzola stopped 38 of 40 shots faced as the Rail Yard Dawgs breezed by the Knoxville Ice Bears, 5-2, Sunday afternoon at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum.

WE'RE GOING STREAKING!: Roanoke's win in Knoxville on Sunday was its seventh in a row, extending the longest winning streak in franchise history. The Rail Yard Dawgs have outscored their opponents a combined 31-13 during the life of the streak. Roanoke has not lost since it fell to Knoxville at home on February 2, 3-2.

ROSTER MOVEMENT: The Rail Yard Dawgs made a handful of roster moves throughout the week, most notably a trade on Thursday. Roanoke sent defenseman Ben Bauer and forward Mitchell Mueller to Fayetteville in exchange for forward Chris Porter. The Dawgs also signed defenseman Yan Dumontier to a contract and forward Maxime Guyon to a three-game tryout contract on Thursday. Captain Nick Schneider was loaned to ECHL Wheeling on Tuesday and returned Friday afternoon and Viktor Tiutchenko was placed on waivers on Monday.

PACK YOUR BAGS: Friday's game is the second of seven straight that the Rail Yard Dawgs will play away from home. Roanoke will not play on Berglund Center ice again until March 15. The Dawgs are 7-8-2 on the road and 11-11-1 at home this season.

A CHANCE TO CLIMB: Roanoke enters the weekend in eighth place with 39 points, just one point behind seventh place Mississippi who has 40. The RiverKings have played one fewer game (39) than have the Rail Yard Dawgs (40).

HE'S HOT: Colin Murray scored twice in Sunday's 5-2 win over Knoxville, giving him now six goals and one assist in his six games since returning from a 14-game stint in the ECHL with the Wheeling Nailers and Kalamazoo Wings. Murray has scored a goal in five of his six games since returning.

STRONG UNDER BREMNER: Roanoke's win on Sunday pushed its record under head coach Dan Bremner to 13-8-1. Friday will be his first ever game against Mississippi as a head coach

RUSTY RIVERKINGS?: The RiverKings had the previous weekend off due to ice issues in Pensacola causing their games against the Ice Flyers to be rescheduled. They last played on February 13, a 5-4 loss to Huntsville at home. Prior to that, Mississippi had won four consecutive games.

UP NEXT: The Rail Yard Dawgs and RiverKings finish their weekend on Saturday night at Landers Center. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 PM CST.
