Rage Training Staff Voted CHL's Best
March 8, 2007 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Rocky Mountain Rage News Release
Broomfield, Colo. - The results are in and Rocky Mountain Rage equipment manager Patrick "Loaf" Stevens and athletic trainer Osama Kassab have been recognized as the Central Hockey League's Best Equipment/Training Staff in the league's annual Best of the Best Poll.
The Rage's Adam Stefishen, who leads the club with 220 penalty minutes and 16 fighting majors while logging time at both forward and defense this season, was voted as the CHL's second best fighter in the heavyweight designation behind the Colorado Eagles' Ryan Tobler. Stefishen and Tobler never squared-off against one another this season, but Rocky Mountain's versatile tough guy took care of business against two of Tobler's teammates - Fraser Filipic and Les Borsheim - during the course of the teams' 12 head-to-head match-ups.
It should also be noted that Stefishen's teammate, John DiPace, did battle Tobler toe-to-toe this season and felled the Best of the Best-anointed #1 heavyweight in a resounding decision on Nov. 25 during a 7-2 Rage victory over their Front Rage rivals at Broomfield Event Center. DiPace is third on the team with 142 penalty minutes and six fighting majors this season.
League-wide voters also recognized the Rage logo as the CHL's third-best behind the logos for the Odessa Jackalopes and Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees. In the Best Arena category, Broomfield Event Center took home third-place honors, as well, behind Oklahoma City's Ford Center and Tim's Toyota Center, home of the Arizona Sundogs.
The Best of the Best Poll is conducted annually among each of the CHL's 17 member teams using input from coaches, players, and front office personnel. To view the results from all 46 categories that were voted upon, please visit http://www.centralhockeyleague.com/pagebank/?id=5102.
