Rafters with a Chance to Complete Home Sweep of Bombers

Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. - Wisconsin Rapids got back above .500 with a 6-3 win last night over the Battle Creek Bombers, improving to 12-11 overall on the season. The Rafters are now 3-0 against the Bombers in 2015 and 6-3 against Battle Creek dating back to last season.

Friday night's game saw the Rafters snap a three-game losing streak with the 6-3 victory over the Bombers. Jake Sandlin (Georgia College) broke a 3-3 tie in the seventh with a bases clearing triple to give Wisconsin Rapids their first lead of the game. Jake Johansmeier (Eastern Illinois) picked up his fourth win of the season, tossing three scoreless innings in relief. Tyler Harris took the loss for Battle Creek after surrendering the triple to Sandlin.

Saturday night's first pitch will be at 6:05 p.m. Taking the ball for the Rafters will be right-hander Adam Hall. The Xavier Musketeer is 1-2 for Wisconsin Rapids, but has pitched better than his record would indicate. He carries a 3.22 ERA in his four starts, tossing 22.1 innings with 17 strike outs.

Tonight's game is also Heartland Farm's Agriculture Appreciation Night, featuring a petting zoo. Fans are encouraged to stick around following the game as on Saturday's throughout the season, kids in attendance are able to come down to the field and run the bases, as well as for postgame fireworks. Gates open at 5:05 p.m.
