Radue's Big Start Leads Bullfrogs Past Chinooks
June 20, 2015 - Northwoods League (Northwoods)
Green Bay Rockers News Release
Green Bay, Wis.- Ryan Radue took a no-hitter into the sixth inning and the Bullfrogs scored three runs in the first inning against starter Lake Bachar (UW-Whitewater) as Green Bay beat Lakeshore, 6-2.
Lake Bachar had downed 10 via the strikeout and allowed just one run in his last start against Green Bay in May, but he allowed three runs in the first against the Bullfrogs.
In the first, new outfielder, Robb Paller (Columbia) doubled Matt De La Rosa (Lenoir-Rhyne) to 3rd and both runners scored on RBI from Danny Rosenbaum (Louisville) and Ryan Donovan (Hofstra).
Radue allowed an unearned run of the Chinooks designated hitter, Kyle Wood (Purdue) in the 2nd, but carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning with a season high seven strikeouts.
The Bullfrogs offense, stymied by Bachar in the middle innings, staged a late charge in the seventh and eighth innings after they tallied three runs off of Chinooks' bullpen arms John Schreiber (Kent State) and Andrew Shaps (Arizona State).
In the seventh frame, Jack Strunc walked, moved to second on a passed ball, and stole third. He scored on a sac-fly from Franco Guardascione (Jacksonville) as the Bullfrogs tacked on two more in the eighth including an RBI base hit by Mikey Duarte (UC-Irvine).
Ryan Radue picked up his second win and went 5 1/3IP on 1R (0ER) with 7K-4BB. The loss was credited to Lake Bachar, whose ERA still stands at 2.07. It was his first loss this year. The save was given to Jeremy Graf (2) who pitched 1 1/3 IP/0R to end the contest.
With the victory, the Bullfrogs moved up a game on Kenosha and are now 12-11. They start the first of seven games tomorrow at home against the 1st-place Kenosha Kingfish with a 1:05PM first pitch. Parker Hamilton (Florida Gulf Coast) gets the start.
It's faith and family day at the ballpark tomorrow. It's also Brew Pub Pizza Father's Day with a baseball giveaway.
Single game tickets are on sale now. Visit www.greenbaybullfrogs.com to purchase tickets. The Bullfrogs' business hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
