Wisconsin Rapids Rafters News Release

Green Bay, Wis.- The Rafters completed the sweep of the Green Bay Bullfrogs tonight at Joannes Stadium, winning by a score of 3-1. Pitching was the story as Jake Johansmeier (Eastern Illinois) threw eight innings of one run baseball en route to his sixth win of 2015. Garrett Harrison (St. Cloud State) took his second loss of the summer, while Chris Falwell (Cisco College) picked up his first save for Wisconsin Rapids. With the sweep of Green Bay, the Rafters move to 11-12 in the 2nd half while the Bullfrogs fall to 12-13.

The Rafters got on the board first in the top of the first inning as Ernie Clement (Virginia) was plated by Sam Tolleson (Central Florida). Green Bay responded as Robb Paller (Columbia) scored on an RBI double from Danny Rosenbaum (Louisville) to tie the game for the Bullfrogs. Green Bay would not score again as Johansmeier struck out five in eight innings of work before Chris Falwell retired the home team in order, in the ninth. The Rafters winning run came in the fifth when Clement scored on a sacrifice fly by Beau Jordan (LSU). Bryce Jordan (LSU) drove in an insurance run in the sixth inning when he singled to score Jake Sandlin (Southern Mississippi) from second. The Rafters pitching staff held the Bullfrogs to two runs in the final 13 innings of this series dating back to yesterday's game. Green Bay also committed 9 errors defensively in the two game series.

The Rafters will make the trip to Eau Claire Wednesday for a day-night doubleheader. The Rafters next home game is Thursday, July 30th against the Lakeshore Chinooks. Tickets are still available, call 715-424-5400 or buy online at RaftersBaseball.com.
