
Rafters Look for Third Consecutive Win against Green Bay

Green Bay, Wis.- The Rafters topped their rivals to the east last night, by a score of 6-3. The game was tied at 3-3 in the top of the ninth inning when the Rafters Ernie Clement (Virginia) singled home a run to give the Rafters the lead. Two more insurance runs were added later in the 9th, before James Davitt (Bryant) faced the minimum in the bottom of the frame. Wisconsin Rapids improved to 10-12 in the 2nd half with the win, while the Bullfrogs fell to 12-12 with the loss.
Jake Johansmeier (Eastern Illinois) will be on the hill as the Rafters go for the sweep in Green Bay. The Northwoods League veteran is 5-1 with a 3.58 ERA this summer. This will be the first time Johansmeier has faced Green Bay in 2015. The Rafters offense will have their work cut out for them tonight, as Green Bay will be throwing 2015 Northwoods League All-Star Garrett Harrison (St. Cloud State). In addition to starting the 2015 Marshfield Clinic Northwoods League All-Star Game, the lefty has been stellar this summer for Green Bay. He leads the League with a 1.14 ERA this summer and has a record of 4-1 with 41 strikeouts in the season.
