
Rafters Set for Doubleheader in Eau Claire

Eau Claire, Wis.- The Rafters completed the sweep of the Green Bay Bullfrogs last night at Joannes Stadium, winning by a score of 3-1. Today, Wisconsin Rapids seeks their first win against a North division opponent. They're 0-3 against the North in 2015, losing to Eau Claire in extra innings at Witter Field earlier this season. The Rafters are playing some good baseball as of late, sweeping Green Bay in their last series and winning three of their last four games. Wisconsin Rapids comes into the doubleheader 26-29 overall, 11-12 in the 2nd half. The Express are 25-34 on the season, 12-13 in the 2nd half.
The Rafters will send right-hander Brian Russell (College of Staten Island) to the mound for game one. He is 2-3 with a 3.37 ERA for Wisconsin Rapids. This will be Russell's 10th start of the season. He will be opposed by Erich Uelmen (Cal Poly), the right hander will be making his eighth appearance overall and fourth start of the summer. His numbers have been solid, compiling a 3-1 record, with a 2.12 ERA. Opponents are batting .190 against Uelmen this summer. The game two starter for Wisconsin Rapids will be John Jaeger (Pacific). He has been very good out of the bullpen for the Rafters and will get the nod to start only his second game this season. In his last five relief appearances he has allowed only one earned run in eight innings. Bryce Hensley (Catawba Valley CC) will make the start in game two for Eau Claire. He is 1-3 with a 4.23 ERA in seven starts. Eau Claire pitchers will have their hands full as Rafters catcher Bryce Jordan (LSU) comes off a series against Green Bay where he went four for seven with an RBI and a run scored in the two Rafters wins.
