BATTLE CREEK, Mich - John Kravetz (W, 1-0) allowed just one run over seven innings as the Battle Creek Bombers (8-5) fell to the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (5-9) 4-1 on Tuesday night.

Bombers' starter David Stagg (L, 0-1) went 4.2 innings but did not receive much run support. He struck out seven allowing two runs on five hits. Cort Brinson delivered a two-RBI single in the eighth with the bases loaded to make it a 4-1 game, and J.P. Feyereisen (S, 2) came in for the ninth inning save.

The Bombers' lone run came on a Cam Gibson sacrifice fly in the fifth after Matthew Goodson led off the inning with a double. The Bombers' newcomers, Joe Serrano, Jordan Farris, Rouric Bridgewater, and Daniel Cucjen went a combined 1-15.

Battle Creek hits the road for a five game trip in La Crosse and Lakeshore starting Wednesday. Big man Kyle Slack will get the start tomorrow against the Loggers.
