Blue Anchors fall to Willmar 13-5

Alexandria Blue Anchors News Release
The Alexandria Blue Anchors ran into a tough game with Willmar, losing 13-5 to the Stingers in front of a crowd of 902 at Bill Taunton Stadium in Willmar.
The Blue Anchors started the game well, scoring single runs in the first and third innings. However, Alexandria gave up runs in six out of the eight innings, and were unable to come back.
Andrew Sohn (Western Michigan) continued his hot play to start the season, going 3 for 5 with two runs scored for the Blue Anchors. Kris Goodman (Iowa) also went 3 for 5 with two runs scored, while also stealing two bases for Alexandria.
Corey Fitzgerald (St. Cloud State, 0-1) took the loss for Willmar, going 3.1 innings, and giving up five runs. Sheldon Lee took the win for WIllmar.
The Blue Anchors will begin a three game set with the Duluth Huskies. Game one will take place in Duluth Tuesday at 6:35pm. The Blue Anchors will be back at the Shipyard Wednesday versus Duluth, starting at 7:05.
