
Rafters Pitcher Bass Signs with Dodgers

Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. - Wisconsin Rapids Rafters pitcher Brian Bass (Faulkner University) signed a free agent contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday.
Bass, a right-handed pitcher, appeared in seven games as a Rafter, compiling a 1-1 record with a 1.80 ERA over 10 games and notching three saves. The Los Angeles, Calif. native collected a pair of saves in back-to-back games last week when he preserved a 7-6 Wisconsin Rapids win on June 26 in La Crosse, followed by a clean ninth in a 2-1 win in Madison on June 27.
At Faulkner University this past spring, Bass threw in 35.1 innings over 16 games, earning a 3-1 record with a 3.31 ERA. He struck out 34 compared to just eight walks while holding opponents to .244 batting average.
Bass will report to Arizona to officially sign his contract and complete a physical.
