Rafters Game Postponed Due to Rain
June 11, 2015 - Northwoods League (Northwoods)
Wisconsin Rapids Rafters News Release
Wisconsin Rapids, WI. - Due to heavy rain, tonight's game between the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters and Battle Creek Bombers at Witter Field has been postponed. The game will be made up as part of a double header between the two teams on Friday, June 12th. Each game will be seven innings, with the first game scheduled to begin at 5:05. Game two of the double header will begin 30 minutes following the completion of game one.
Gates will open at 4:05 tomorrow afternoon for the twin bill. The Rafters will don Ho-Chunk Gaming Nekoosa themed jerseys for game one, which will be auctioned off during game one and through the 5th inning of game two, to allow all fans an opportunity to participate. Proceeds from the jersey auction will benefit the Witter Field history mural that was added to the back of the Witter Field grandstand this past spring.
The regularly scheduled game on June 12th will begin 30 minutes following the completion of the make-up game. Pro Wrestling Hall of Famer "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan, who rose to prominence in the late 1980s and early 1990s, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to game two of the doubleheader. Hacksaw will also sign autographs beginning at 6:00 tomorrow night. The first fans through the gates will receive a complimentary 8x10 photo of Duggan and the Rafters will have two-by-fours available for purchase for autographs as well. Fans are permitted to bring their own memorabilia, however there will be a limit of one autographed item per person. Hacksaw's appearance is sponsored by WAOW TV-9.
Game two will also feature Ho-Chunk Gaming Nekoosa baseball bingo during the game. Fans will have the opportunity to follow along during the game and win prizes, with each play on the field corresponding to a circle on their bingo card. Prizes will be awarded for Single Bingo (one line, in any direction) and Blackout Bingo (full card filled). There will also be Instant Winners, where random card numbers will be called during the evening.
If you have a ticket for tomorrow's regularly scheduled game (June 12th), your ticket will allow you to occupy your seat for both games of the doubleheader. All fans with tickets for the June 11th game will be able to exchange their unused tickets to any remaining game during the 2015 regular season, based on availability.
If you had a ticket to the Incourage Community Foundation Pre-Game Picnic for June 11th, please bring your unused ticket(s) to the Rafters ticket office anytime Monday-Friday from 9AM-5PM to exchange out for a ticket to the rescheduled Incourage Picnic on Thursday, June 18th. All Rafters 9 Game Pack, Solarus Founders Club, Point Craft River, and Home Plate club tickets from June 11th, can be exchanged out for any ticket for any remaining regular season game with the all-you-can-eat and drink amenities that are normally included in the ticket price.
