Wisconsin Rapids Rafters News Release
Green Bay, Wis- The Rafters made a valiant comeback, but could not overcome a seven run deficit as they fell to Green Bay 8-6 this evening. The Bullfrogs took a commanding lead in the bottom of the first inning, scoring seven runs on 6 walks by the Rafters. The Rafters had the tying run at the plate in the top of the ninth, but Jeremy Graf (St. Petersburg) was able to strikeout the Rafters pinch hitter to collect his seventh save of the summer and the second win of the second half for Green Bay.
Chris Falwell (Cisco College) took the loss for Wisconsin Rapids. Green Bay starter Ryan Radue (UConn), moved to 4-0 this summer for the Bullfrogs as he picked up the win. Zack Domingues (Long Beach State) and Jake Sandlin (Georgia College) each hit solo homeruns for the Rafters in the late innings. Nate Easley ( San Joaquin Delta CC) had a two hit ball game, while Ernie Clement (Virginia) made his debut for Wisconsin Rapids and collected three hits. John Jaeger (Pacific) was also stellar out of the bullpen tonight. He went five and two-thirds innings and struck out five, while allowing two unearned runs.
The Rafters then return home tomorrow afternoon for a day game with the Green Bay Bullfrogs. First pitch will be at 3:05 PM. Tickets are available for all remaining Rafters home games, call 715-424-5400 or go to www.raftersbaseball.com.
