Wisconsin Rapids Rafters News Release

Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. - The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (13-26) are looking for their second win in as many days this evening as they take on the Thunder Bay Border Cats (15-24). The Rafters are coming off one of their finest offensive performances of the season as they battered the Kenosha Kingfish 14-5 last night at Witter Field. The Border Cats are coming off of a 4-3 loss at the hands of the Wilmar Stingers and are currently riding a three game losing streak.

Jason Freeman (Texas A&M, 1-1) will get the ball tonight for the Rafters and will look to win his second consecutive start. Last time out Freeman handled the Green Bay Bullfrogs offense as he went seven strong innings only allowing three runs on six hits while striking out five and only walking two. In his 15 innings of work this season Freeman has an ERA of 4.20 and has been very strong in his last three appearances for the Rafters.

Pitching for the Border Cats will be Yuji Suzuki (Concordia, 1-2) who will be making his fifth start of the season for Thunder Bay. Suzuki has had a rough go of things for the most part as he has an ERA of 5.89 and is coming off of an outing against the Mankato MoonDogs where he gave up eight runs on 11 hits in six innings of work.

Zack Domingues (Long Beach State) continues to tear through Northwoods League pitching as he is batting .380 and carries an on base percentage of .504, which are both tops in the league. Domingues has reached base in 23 of the 25 games he has played for the Rafters. Keelin Rasch (Louisiana Monroe) is coming off a great performance in the series finale with Kenosha where he went four for six with two doubles and drove in two runs as well.

The game tonight is at 5:05pm which means the gates to Witter Field will be opening at 4:05pm. After the game tonight Bull's Eye Credit Union will be presenting the post game Human Cannonball Show, which is sure to be a blast.
