R2D2 and Chewbacca to Make Appearance at Saturday's Game

The Arena at Gwinnett Center will be invaded by fictional representatives from the Galactic Republic this Saturday Night when the Gwinnett Gladiators host the Reading Royals at 7:05 p.m.

A pair of Clone Troopers from the hit animated television series "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" will conduct security scanning of all loyal fans entering the Arena at Gwinnett Center beginning at 6 p.m. immediately after the doors open for the Gladiators game. All blasters and light sabers must be checked at the door before entering the game. Upon arrival, fans are encouraged to participate in the "Five-Dollar Frenzy" for special limited-edition Gladiators caps. "Five-Dollar Frenzy" means no more "first thru the door", no age restrictions, and no limits - caps are just $5, while they last!

In addition, legendary heroes of the Rebel Alliance and special VIP team guests Chewbacca and R2D2 will be in attendance and attempt to restore order from the "Five Dollar Frenzy". NOTE: Arena parking remains free of charge, but patrons are advised to be aware of the restricted sector of the lot reserved for the Millenium Falcon - the Gladiators/Gwinnett Center will not assume liability for any damage such as charring of vehicles during takeoff or landing activities.

Presented by Xfinity from Comcast and Cartoon Network, R2, Chewie, and the Clone Troopers will be available to pose for pictures with fans at the Comcast booth located on the Arena concourse near the main entrance. The characters will be unavailable for about one hour (from approximately 6:45pm until 7:45pm) to conduct on-ice activities associated with the event. However, they will reemerge for fan interaction following the 1st intermission and remain on-site until approximately 9:15 p.m.

This live appearance by R2D2, Chewbacca, and the Clone Troopers from "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" will last just one night - Saturday, March 26th at the Arena at Gwinnett Center as the Gladiators take on the Reading Royals beginning at 7:05 p.m.

The Gladiators are the AA affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
