Reading Fightin Phils News Release

The Reading Fightin Phils were routed by the Akron RubberDucks 11-0 on Saturday night. The highlight was the dominant back of the bullpen split between Nick Lackney and Austin Ross. Daniel Brito recorded two hits throughout the nine innings.

The Fightins notched three other hits off the bats of Dalton Guthrie, Luke Miller, and Hunter Hearn.

Francisco Morales got the start, struggling to get out of the first inning. Although two Fightins errors did not help. Braden Zarbnisky came in for relief in the second shutting down the RubberDucks for two. After allowing two home runs, he turned the ball over to Tyler Carr with one out in the fourth. Carr allowed three runs on four hits. Lackney who flew to Akron from Clearwater today, arrived at the park just before the game. He took the ball for the sixth and seventh allowing just two hits and getting out of a bases loaded jam unscathed. Austin Ross pitched a scoreless eighth.

Akron's bats came alive charging early and often. They plated five in the first off a homer, two errors, a wild pitch, a sacrifice fly, and three stolen bases. The RubberDucks struck again in the fourth scoring another sixth with two more homers and some extra base hits.

Starter Eli Lingos allowed just three hits in five innings with no runs. Dakody Clemmer worked a clean two as did Juan Mota to get the job done.
