Lebron, Sedlock Pitch Baysox To 4-2 Win

Richmond had a runner in scoring position in seven of nine innings, but couldn't dent the scoreboard until the ninth inning as the Baysox defeated the Flying Aquirrels 4-2 on Saturday night.

Making his first Double-A start, David Lebron (2-0) was outstanding. Using a phenomenal changeup, Lebron kept Richmond off balance with five sterling shutout innings. He then passed the baton to Cody Sedlock who shut down the Squirrels through three innings of relief.

The Baysox used a two-run rally in the second inning to grab the lead. Jaylen Ferguson doubled down the left field line, stole third and scored on a Doran Turchin RBI-double to give Bowie the lead. Turchin them stole third and scored on a groundout by Chris Hudgins with the infield remaining back.

The 2-0 lead would hold until then top of the ninth inning. That's when Hudgins provided needed insurance. A two-run home run to left field doubled the lead to make it 4-0. Richmond would score two runs in the ninth inning but it wasn't enough.

Bowie won the ballgame without hitting a single. The Baysox have now won nine of 12 games and have assured themselves of a split of the six-game series in Richmond.

The Baysox look to take the series with LHP D.L. Hall on the hill Sunday, May 23rd at 1:05 p.m. Bowie will then return home after an off day for a 6:35 p.m. first pitch Tuesday, May 25th vs. Harrisburg.
