
Ducks Beat R-Phils 11-0 Behind Long Ball, Dominant Lingos Start

The RubberDucks offense explodes in support of Eli Lingos' strong start to down the Fightin' Phils 11-0 on Saturday night at Canal Park.
Turning Point
The Ducks offense got off to a quick start in the bottom of the first when Tyler Freeman doubled to leadoff the game. Freeman would come home to score on an error to give Akron the 1-0 lead. Later in the inning Andruw Monasterio would drive in Alex Call with a sac fly before Bo Naylor would launch a two-run home run to make the Akron lead 4-0. Oscar Gonzalez would single and later come around to score on a wild pitch to stretch the Ducks lead even more to 5-0.
Mound Presence
Lingos got the start for Akron and made sure the run support held up. Lingos would toss five scoreless innings scattering three hits and only allowing two runners past first base. Dakody Clemmer would follow Lingos by tossing two shutout innings striking out one. Juan Móta would finish the game by tossing two scoreless and striking out two.
Duck Tales
The RubberDucks would add on in the bottom of the fourth when Will Benson launched a two-run home run. Akron would not stop there as Freeman would launch a solo homer and Trenton Brooks drove home two with a triple. Monasterio would single home Brooks to finish off the sixth run inning and stretch the Akron lead to 11-0. The Ducks offense would send 10 to the plate and hit for the cycle as a team in the fourth. The Ducks collected a season-high 7 XBH, going 4-for-8 with RISP, and leaving 9 on base.
Notebook
13 hits was second most by the Ducks this season behind a 17 hit performance against Erie ... Gonzalez and Monasterio would each extended their hitting streaks to 2 games ... Naylor's home run and Freeman's home run was their first of the season ... Freeman collected his first multi-hit game since the 5-for-6 last Saturday against Erie ... Brooks two RBI triple was RBI number 9 and 10 on year putting him second on the team behind O. Gonzalez ... Time: 2:47 ... Attendance: 3,586

Juan Hillman (1-1, 3.14 ERA) will take the mound for Akron against Reading's starter James McArthur (0-1, 4.09 ERA).
