Quirion Comes Through in Ninth; Claws Top Hudson Valley 2-1 for Sixth Straight Win

WAPPINGERS FALLS, NY - Anthony Quirion came through with an RBI single in the ninth inning to break a 1-1 tie and gave the BlueClaws a 2-1 win over Hudson Valley on Thursday, their sixth straight victory.

With the win, the BlueClaws have pulled to within two games of first place Brooklyn in the South Atlantic League Northern Division. Jersey Shore has now won 15 of their last 18 games dating to July 21st.

Quirion brought in Caleb Ricketts, who had singled, with the go-ahead run. Jason Ruffcorn came on and threw a 1-2-3 ninth inning to earn his first save of the season.

The BlueClaws opened the scoring in the second inning on a SAC fly from Freylin Minyety.

Jersey Shore starter Mitch Neunborn went a season-high four scoreless innings while striking out six. Rodolfo Sanchez threw a scoreless fifth. Jack Dallas came on next and threw two scoreless innings to keep the game 1-0 into the eighth.

Jared Serna tied the game with an RBI single off BlueClaws reliever Konnor Ash in the eighth before Quirion's game-winning hit in the ninth.

Quirion had two of the four BlueClaws hits in the victory.

The teams continue their series on Friday night at 7:05 pm. LHP Samuel Aldegheri is scheduled to make his BlueClaws debut. The BlueClaws return home on Tuesday for a six game series with Asheville (Astros).
