Osceola Magic News Release
The Osceola Magic defeated the Cleveland Charge at Osceola Heritage Park 120-104 Wednesday night.
Orlando Magic two-way player Trevelin Queen dropped 30 points on 10-of-17 shooting to lead Osceola. His night was helped by a monster first half, dropping 23 points.
"For me, it's keeping the game simple," Queen said. "A lot of people get nervous I guess when they guard me, so I can see the [anxiousness] in people. For me it's just staying calm and staying ready and doing the small things for my team, which is being open or making the right read. Once I give everybody else confidence, that opens up the door for myself."
Guard Mac McClung added 22 points and 12 assists for his second double-double of the season. The Magic were buoyed by a 39-point first quarter and were able to hold serve from there, avenging Monday's 118-106 loss to the Charge.
"We got a lot of people that can score, so [Head Coach Dylan Murphy] was like 'for the NBA we want to see if you play make,' and I was like 'say less, I'll do it,'" McClung said. "It's easy when you got guys like we got to make plays, and they can make shots, tough or easy, so they help me out a lot."
Osceola locked down on the defensive side of the ball, as the Charge shot just 42.5% from the field and 33.3% from beyond the arc. They also forced 15 turnovers and only allowed more than 25 points in one quarter. Trying to put the game away early, Osceola started the fourth quarter on an 8-0 run. However, the Charge wouldn't go quietly into the night and went on a 15-3 run themselves to cut the Magic lead to 17 with five minutes remaining. The Magic led by 16 as the final buzzer sounded, securing the 120-104 victory for Osceola. With the win, the Magic improve to 6-4 on the season and stay right in the middle of a tightly contested eastern conference.
The Osceola Magic (6-4), NBA G League Affiliate of the Orlando Magic, will face the Capital City Go-Go, on Saturday, January 27 at the Entertainment and Sports Arena in D.C. at 7 pm. The game will stream on NBAGLeague.com.
