Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release
San Bernardino, CA - Rancho Cucamonga added another victory to their season-long winning streak, taking their seventh straight contest with a 7-3 win over the Inland Empire 66ers on Saturday night at San Manuel Stadium.
Jesus Galiz had two hits and drove in three runs, giving the Quakes an opportunity to sweep their first six-game series since 2021.
Rehabbing Dodgers infielder Miguel Rojas homered to get the scoring started, as he launched a solo shot just two batters into the game, giving Rancho a 1-0 lead. Rojas played five scheduled innings at shortstop and was removed after going 1-for-4 at the plate.
Galiz and Cameron Decker each contributed an RBI hit in the second, as the Quakes grew the lead to 3-0 over 66ers starter Leonard Garcia (0-1).
On the hill, Payton Martin dealt over three scoreless innings, before turning it over to Kelvin Ramirez (1-0), who allowed just one run over two relief innings, as he netted the win in relief.
Rancho (14-6) will attempt the six-game sweep on Sunday, sending Maddux Bruns (0-0) to the mound against Inland Empire's Joel Hurtado (0-1) at 2:05pm.
The Quakes will be on the road until Tuesday, May 9th, when they'll return to LoanMart Field for a six-game set against the Stockton Ports with a special Education 11am Day Game to kick off the series. Tickets are available at rcquakes.com. Go Quakes!
