Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release

After 78 games within the South Division, your Rancho Cucamonga Quakes currently lead the 2011 Toyota Cup Standings, a half-game ahead of the Lake Elsinore Storm.

In its inaugural year, the Toyota Cup, presented by the Southern California Toyota Dealers, will go to the South Division team which has the best divisional record after the first 85 divisional games.

The Quakes, currently at 44-34 within the South Division, have a slim half-game lead over Lake Elsinore (43-34). Rancho is 5.5 games up on High Desert (37-38) and 6.5 games ahead of Inland Empire (31-34).

With just seven games remaining before the Quakes hit the magic number of 85 divisional games, the Quakes have a difficult path, playing three games in Lake Elsinore, then four in Inland Empire in mid-August.

The Storm have eight games remaining before they hit the magic number of 85, with three aforementioned games at home against the Quakes, three more at home vs. the High Desert Mavericks, before finishing up with two games at San Bernardino against the Inland Empire 66ers in the first week of August.

The winner of the 2011 Toyota Cup will receive $5000 to the charity of that team's choice.
