Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release

Lake Elsinore, CA - The Quakes fell short in their attempt to sweep Lake Elsinore on Sunday, as the Storm scored six unanswered runs to take the finale, 6-2 at The Diamond in Lake Elsinore.

A Brad Zunica RBI single off Dan Jagiello (0-1) broke a 2-2 tie and was the game-winner for the Storm, who snapped Rancho's three-game winning streak.

The Quakes took an early 2-0 lead, as the Storm committed two errors in the first inning, leading to a pair of unearned runs against Storm starter and eventual winner Nick Margevicius (4-3), who allowed just two unearned runs on five hits over six innings.

Quakes' starter Edwin Uceta didn't make it out of the second inning, as he threw 45 pitches over just 1 2/3 innings, allowing two runs on two hits.

Rancho got hits from Omar Estevez and Cristian Santana, who extended their personal hit streaks to 11 and 13, respectively.

Despite the loss, the Quakes finish the regular season series against Lake Elsinore with an incredible 20-11 record over 31 head-to-head meetings.

The Quakes (75-51, 40-16) will take Monday off and return to LoanMart Field on Tuesday. Wills Montgomerie (0-1) will throw for the Quakes, while Logan Longwith (3-4) will take the ball for Lancaster. Game time on Tuesday is 7:05pm.

Fans can bring ten CRV-eligible bottles and cans to the ballpark on Tuesday for a FREE Club Seat Ticket to the game, thanks to the Healthy RC Program and Recycle Tuesday. Tickets are available at rcquakes.com or by calling (909) 481-5000.
