Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release

San Bernardino, CA - The Inland Empire 66ers hammered the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes for the second time in three nights, as they scored a 13-3 win at San Manuel Stadium on Thursday night.

All nine 66ers in the starting lineup had at least one hit, as Quakes' pitching just wasn't able to slow down an offense that has now scored 32 runs over the first three games of the seven-game set.

Quakes' starter Carlos Duran gave up a run in the third, but got chased in the fourth, as Inland Empire scored a total of seven times in the inning, taking a convincing 8-0 lead.

Imanol Vargas made it an 8-2 game, breathing some life into the Rancho offense in the seventh, as he slugged his tenth homer of the year.

Inland put it away in the bottom of the seventh though, as they scored five more runs to take a commanding 13-2 lead.

Rancho's Jorbit Vivas had two hits and drove in his league-leading 66th run to finish the scoring in the eighth.

The Quakes (48-37) will go with Gavin Stone (0-2) on Friday night, as he'll look to finally slow the 66ers' offense. Inland Empire will roll with Jose Salvador (5-4), with first pitch slated for 7:05pm.

The Quakes will return to LoanMart Field on Tuesday, August 17th, as they host the San Jose Giants in a huge six-game series with playoff implications. Tuesday the 17th will be another Temblores Tuesday, as the Quakes will wear Temblores caps and jerseys, presented by the Art Laboe Show Live. Tickets are available at rcquakes.com.
