Quad City Steamwheelers News Release
The Quad City Steamwheelers, defending Champions of the IFL's Eastern Conference, have signed former BYU defensive lineman Tevita Mo'unga.
From 2015-17 at BYU, Mo'unga recorded 26 total tackles, 12 solo tackles and 1.5 TFL.
Director of Player Personnel and Defensive Assistant Coach Ryan Michael told SteamwheelersFootball.com: "Tevita's experience at the highest level of college football is a tremendous asset for us. How many players in our league can say they've competed against Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen? At 6-3, 335-he imposes his will upon offensive linemen and is able to use tremendous upper body strength and smart arm/hand movement to force opponents off-balance. I can't wait to see what he brings to camp."
At BYU, Mo'unga competed against Wyoming (Josh Allen), UCLA (Josh Rosen), LSU and others.
The signing adds another layer to the Steamwheelers defensive line, following the additions of Jaylin Swan, Krystapher Oakley, Sam Hammond, Raekwon Jefferson, Lionell Wiggins and Teon Burroughs.
"When I look for a Nose I'm looking for a true two gapper. A guy that demands a double team, uses his hands and dominates one on one battles. Big Tevita has those characteristics and I can't wait to coach him up in training camp." said Steamwheelers Head Coach Cory Ross.
