Pym To Consider Future

December 7, 2009 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Regina Pats News Release

Regina, Saskatchewan - 18 year old defenceman, Alex Pym has taken an indefinite leave of absence from the Regina Pats to consider the future of his hockey career. He will return home for the time being until a decision is made on his role with the Regina Pats and the Western Hockey League.

We are disappointed in Alex's decision to leave the team at this time, especially in light of our roster situation. At this time Alex has indicated that his heart is not in it enough to do things he knows are necessary to play at this level. He did not feel that unless he could be more committed than he was not being fair to the organization by playing at this time," Regina Pats General Manager, Brent Parker continues "We will monitor the situation over the next little while and see if Alex has a change of heart, but I think it's safe to say his time with the Pats is officially over."

The Regina Pats will hit the ice for their final home game of 2009 on Wednesday night. The defending WHL champion, Kelowna Rockets will pay a visit to the Brandt Centre for their only appearance of the season. It's a 7pm puck drop, a 6:35 pre-game show on 620 CKRM. For tickets, head to the Ticketmaster box office in the east end of the Brandt Centre, call them at 543-7800 or head to reginapats.com for more information on this, or any Regina Pats ticket information.
