Tri-City Americans News Release

KENNEWICK, WA - Tri-City Americans' Governor/General Manager Bob Tory announced today that 20-year-old forward Taylor Procyshen will be the team's captain for the upcoming 2008-09 season. He is the 20th captain in the team's 21-year history.

Procyshen is entering his fourth and final full season with the Americans and coming off back-to-back 30+ goal seasons. In 187 career games for Tri-City, the Emerald Park, Saskatchewan-native has registered 76 goals and 131 points, good for 17th and 31st on the Americans' all-time lists. A former list player, Procyshen finished third on the team in playoff scoring last season (4-9--13) and, despite missing the entire month of December, finished sixth on the team in regular season scoring.

"Unselfishness, cooperation, positive attitude and hustle; these are attributes you look for in a captain," Tory explained. "Taylor exemplifies everything a team would want in a captain. He has earned this honor."

The Americans' rookie camp will start on Wednesday, August 20 and conclude on Saturday, August 23 with the annual Todd Klassen Memorial Classic. Main camp will then kick-off on Sunday, August 24. The Americans will open their 21st WHL season on Saturday, September 20 against the Kelowna Rockets at the Toyota Center.
