Lethbridge Hurricanes News Release

Lethbridge, AB - The Lethbridge Hurricanes were proud to announce today that Head Trainer and Team Therapist - Tyler "Slim" Broderson has resigned his position with the team to take on a new challenge as the Western Canada Sales Representative for Reebok and CCM Hockey. Broderson is a five year veteran of the Hurricanes locker room, with over a decade of experience as a trainer. After beginning his career with Hockey Alberta at the under-16 and under-17 level he became involved with the Lethbridge Hurricanes and is now one of the most recognizable and respected people in his field across the Western Hockey League.

As a trainer, equipment manager and an athletic therapist he has been involved with Hockey Canada on all levels of the Program of Excellence - including twice serving with the U-17 World Juniors, twice with the U-18 World Juniors and once with the Canadian U-20 team. The highlight of which came in 2007 when he served as Head Trainer for the 2007 World Junior Championship gold medal winning Team Canada.

"On behalf of the Hurricanes' organization I would like to congratulate Slim and his family on this new challenge within our industry" said Canes GM Roy Stasiuk "I also want to thank him for the wonderful years of dedicated and professional attention he provided to our athletes."

"These are mixed emotions for me as this new opportunity will afford me more time with my young family but I also know I am leaving a team that continues to improve and should remain competitive for a number of years" said Broderson adding "I would just like to thank the Hurricanes administration, staff and players for the past five seasons and thank them for their support as I take on this new challenge."
