Prince George Cougars News Release

Prince George Cougars forward Townes Kozicky is recovering from a ruptured spleen that occurred during last night's game in Spokane.

Due to the quick response by the EMS and Spokane Chiefs Physicians & Training Staff, Townes was able to be quickly transported to Sacred Heart Children's Hospital where he underwent surgery to remove the ruptured spleen in an equally fast response time.

He is recovering, conscious, and in good spirits with his parents accompanying him.

The Cougars would like to thank the local EMS and Spokane Chiefs Medical & Training Staff for their fast response time and expertise in caring for Townes.

Townes will travel with his parents and return home once he is discharged from the hospital, which should happen in a couple days time. Kozicky will miss the remainder of the WHL Playoffs, but is expected to make a full recovery.
