Pride Taken Down by Tornadoes; 5-2

(NASHUA, N.H., May 27, 2008) Worcester Tornadoes starting pitcher Matt Weagle earned his second win of the season on Tuesday night, overcoming four errors made behind him, to hold the Nashua Pride to two runs, on five hits, while not giving up a walk and striking-out four.

Tornadoes centerfielder B.J. Weed was a just a home run short of the cycle, going 3-for-4 with a triple, double, single, and a run scored. Former Pride infielder Chris Colabello hit his first home run of the season, a two run shot in the third inning.

Pride starter Bucky Kosyk lasted six innings in his 2008 debut, giving up five runs, 4 earned, on eight hits, a walk, and a strike-out. The Pride bullpen was again impressive, relievers Mike Joyce and Nate Berberian combined to throw three no-hit innings to finish the game.

Third baseman Ismael Castro made it three consecutive games with at least a pair of hits for the Pride, going 2-for-4 with a run scored and his first RBI of the season. Catcher Argenis Tavarez reached base three times, also going 2-for-3 and reaching on one of Worcester's four errors in the game.

The Pride and Tornadoes will wrap-up their brief two game series on Wednesday night at Historic Holman Stadium, at 7:05pm, when Hideki Nagasaka makes his second start of the season for Nashua. Shawn McNamara will get the ball for Worcester.
