Caraballo, Cyr Named Players Of The Week

DURHAM, NC - Worcester Tornadoes OF Francisco Caraballo and Quebec Capitales LHP Eric Cyr was named by PA-Sportsticker, the official statistician of the Can-Am League, as the Teamline Direct Batter and Pitcher of the Week.

In four games, Caraballo batted .421 with two home runs, four doubles, six RBI and eight hits. He also plated five runs, slugged .737 and had an on-base percentage of .450. In Thursday's 14-5 victory over the Sussex Skyhawks, Caraballo went 3-for-5 at the plate with two runs scored and three RBI along with hitting his first home run of the year. The Anaco, VZ native was signed as a non-drafted free agent by the Houston Astros in February of 2001.

Cyr had a solid start this past Friday in the 1-0 victory over the Atlantic City Surf. Cyr went five innings allowing five hits and only one walk while fanning nine Surf batters. The Ada, OK resident was selected by the San Diego Padres in the 30th round of the 1998 MLB draft. He reached the big leagues with the Padres in 2002. Cyr has also pitched in the Cincinnati Reds, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and Los Angeles Dodgers organizations.
