Pride Take It To The Streets

July 28, 2008 - Canadian American League (Can-Am)
American Defenders of New Hampshire News Release

(Nashua, N.H., July 28, 2008) The Nashua Pride mascots and front office staff brought the thrill of the game to local residents yesterday. With a pick-up truck filled with promotional items and free tickets, Stitches, Shag and Primetime blitzed local neighborhoods to invite the citizens of Nashua to attend a game during the current 7-day home stand.

Beginning at Roby Park, the Pride made friends and new fans with young children on the playground. Balloons and soft baseballs were well received by everyone. After leaving Roby Park, the group headed to the neighborhoods around Bicentennial Elementary School.

"We found that we have fans around every corner," said Chris Hall, Pride General Manager. "The children responded well to the mascots. In one case, they were even invited to join a little girl's 7th birthday party."

"Some of our key sponsors were excited to see us arrive in their neighborhood," said Cliff Jacques, Pride Director of Sales.

After a stop at the gas station to fuel up the truck, the group cruised through a local fast food restaurant and made its way through the Spindlewick neighborhood.

"We plan to reach out to the community as often as we can during the remainder of our 2008 season," said Hall. "If someone is having a big event, we'd like to know. We just might drop in."

Anybody interested in inviting the Pride street team to their local park, social center, neighborhood, or front yard should send an e-mail request to info@nashuapride.com.

The goal of the street team blitz is to remind Nashua that the Pride provides a fun, affordable, community-based and fan-friendly source of sports entertainment. The 2007 Can-Am League Champions is participating in their third year of play in the Canadian-American Association of Professional Baseball.
