The Worcester Tornadoes finished what they started when they began this game on July 23, adding to the 2-0 lead that they already held when play resumed and going on to edge Sussex 4-3. Worcester starting pitcher Alex Pena allowed three runs on five hits while striking out six in 6 1/3 innings to notch his first win of the season. Tornadoes closer John Birtwell fanned the only two hitters he faced in the seventh to earn his ninth save. CF BJ Weed was the offensive star for Worcester. He went 2-for-4 with a home run and a pair of RBI.

Sussex 5, Worcester 0 (Regularly scheduled game - 7 innings)

The Sussex Skyhawks rebounded from their loss in the completion of the suspended game behind a great outing from starting pitcher Kyle Ruwe. Ruwe went the distance, allowing just four hits while fanning a pair and walking no one. The win runs Ruwe's record to 8-4 on the year. Sussex 1B Matt Weston was 1-for-2 in the contest with a home run and two runs scored. Skyhawks SS Mark Pappas was also 1-for-2 and he drove in a pair.

Brockton 7, Nashua 6 (Game 1 - 7 innings)

The Brockton Rox plated a pair of runs in the first inning to take a 2-0 lead, one that they would never relinquish, en route to victory in game one of a doubleheader against Nashua. Rox LF Dennis Abreu continued to swing a hot bat, going 2-for-3 with a home run, three runs scored and two RBI. 2B Melvin Falu also homered for Brockton and finished the game 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored and two RBI. 1B Brian Duplissie and 2B Ismael Castro each hit a three-run home run for Nashua, but it wasn't enough in the end as Rox closer Jerry Dunn sealed the win with his 16th save.

Nashua 9, Brockton 3 (Game 2 - 7 innings)

The Nashua Pride managed to salvage a split of the doubleheader with Brockton thanks to a solid outing from starting pitcher Lance Stevens. Stevens allowed two runs on four hits while striking out three in six innings of work to notch the win and improve his mark to 5-4 on the year. Pride 1B Bryan Duplissie led all hitters at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a pair of runs scored. CF Ervin Alcantara also had a nice game for Nashua. He was 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBI.

Quebec starting pitcher Kevin Beavers pitched well allowing one unearned run on five hits while fanning two in six innings to beat the New Jersey Jackals. The victory improves Beavers' mark to 4-3 on the season and lifts Quebec to 8-6 in the second half. Capitales 3B Pat Deschenes led the way at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a double and a RBI. New Jersey 1B Juan Tejada led the way for the Jackals in the losing effort. He was 2-for-4 with a RBI.

Ottawa 8, Atlantic City 3

Every Ottawa hitter except one recorded a hit in the contest and six different players recorded multi-hit games as the Rapidz rolled to an easy win. In all, Ottawa compiled 16 hits as a team, led by SS Juan Infante and C Kyle Geiger, both of whom went 3-for-5. Ottawa starting pitcher Adam Hawes allowed two runs on six hits while striking out seven in 6 2/3 innings of work to notch the win and run his record to 4-7 on the year. The win was the fourth in a row for Ottawa and has them within two games of .500 in the second half.
