N. CHARLESTON, SC -- After winning just two times in the regular season at the North Charleston Coliseum over the last two years, the Pee Dee Pride picked up a huge win in the buidling on Wednesday night, winning game one of the Southeast Division Semifinals 3-0.

After picking up four shutouts in the regular season, Ron Vogel opened the post-season with another one, turning aside all 25 South Carolina shots.

Usually at the North Charleston Coliseum, it's the Stingrays getting off to a quick start. But, this time it was the Pride finding the back of the net just 46 seconds into the first period.

Kyle Kidney came into the South Carolina zone on a 1-on-5 advantage as the rest of his line went to a change. Kidney went in behind the South Carolina net, and wrapped a shot just inside of the near post to give the Pride a 1-0 lead.

Ron Vogel played a great first period, as he turned aside all nine Stingrays' shots many from point-blank range.

The Pride doubled their advantage at the 13:52 mark of the second period.. Preston Mizzi came across the Stingrays' blue line and took a long slap shot. The shot hit off of Kirk Daubenspeck's face mask and came right back to Mizzi, who flipped it into the net for his first of the post-season.

Captain Allan Sirois gave the Pride a huge insurance goal with just 10.2 seconds left in the second period. Ryan Knox kept the puck in at the right point, and found Mizzi along the end boards. Mizzi centered in front for Sirois, who one-timed a shot past Daubenspeck for his first of the post-season. The Pride and Stingrays play game two of the series on Friday night at 7:30 at the Lion's Den.
