LAFAYETTE, LA - The Florence Pride fell to 1-3-0 on their five-game road trip Sunday afternoon, falling to the Louisiana IceGators 3-1 at the Cajundome.

After a scoreless first period, the Pride scored the first goal of the game just 1:25 into the second period. Jeff Szwez had the puck along the near wall, and tried to center a pass to Luke Earl. That pass was knocked down by the IceGators, but Szwez quickly regained possession and stuffed a quick shot past Derek Gustafson for his 16th goal of the season.

But, two late goals by Louisiana gave the IceGators a 2-1 lead going to the second intermission. At the 15:44 mark, Armands Berzins shot was blockered down by Matt Underhill, and the rebound went back into the slot. The puck hit off of Chris Talierico's body, and went past Underhill to tie the game at one.

With just 55 seconds remaining in the middle period, the IceGators took their first lead of the night. Konstantin Kalmikov took a blistering slap shot from the left wing circle, which Underhill stopped, but the rebound came to Semir Ben-Amor who pushed the puck into the net for his sixth of the season.

Louisiana's Ed McGrane set the final score, scoring into an empty net with just 29 seconds left in regulation.

The Pride's five-game road trip concludes Tuesday night, with a 7:30 face off against the Columbus Cottonmouths. All of the action starts with the Palmetto Chiropractic Pre-Game Show at 7:10 on WDAR Sunny 105.5. Florence returns home Friday, hosting the Roanoke Express at 7:30.
