Sporting Kansas City II News Release
The Swope Park Rangers will look to get back to winning ways on Saturday night when they take on Tulsa Roughnecks FC at Swope Soccer Village. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. CT and the game will be available via live stream on SportingKC.com.
The Rangers are in the midst of a four-game winless run, including defeats in their last three games, having last won on April 2 in their first matchup with the Roughnecks at ONEOK Field. Dane Kelly and Nansel Selbol scored the goals in a 2-1 win that propelled the Rangers to a 2-0-0 start to the season.
Last weekend, the Rangers fell to a 3-0 defeat against cross-state rivals Saint Louis FC at WWT Soccer Park. First-half goals from Schillo Tshuma and Chad Bond put Saint Louis in a commanding position before SPR defender Oumar Ballo was sent off for a second bookable offense late in the opening period. Irvin Herrera added a third goal after the break before Bond was sent off late in the game after being shown his second yellow card.
Tulsa enter the weekend on the back of their first victory since their season opener, having claimed a 2-1 road win over Seattle Sounders FC 2 last Sunday. Two goals from forward Sammy Ochoa made the difference for the Roughnecks, and Ochoa now leads the team in goals, assists, shots, shots on goal, game-winning goals and red cards.
The Rangers and Tulsa Roughnecks FC will face each other twice more in 2016, with the next matchup taking place on Aug. 6 at ONEOK Field before the two sides wrap up the season series at Swope Soccer Village on Sept. 10.
The Rangers are hosting Youth Soccer Night at Saturday's game, with youth players that wear their soccer uniforms earning a $5 discount on tickets at the box office. In addition, fans can purchase a SPR and Sporting KC two-game weekend package, where they will receive a ticket to Saturday's Rangers game against Tulsa and Sunday's Sporting KC game against Orlando City SC for just $39. That offer is available by calling 913-951-3562 or emailing Rodrigo Futema at rfutema@sportingkc.com.
Single-game tickets, starting as low as $12, are available now via the Swope Park Rangers Ticketmaster page, by calling 888-4KC-GOAL or at the box office on gameday.
