Preview: Firebirds Host Kitchener for Final Time this Season

After a two game road trip to Erie, Penn. and St. Catharines, Ont, the Firebirds welcome the Kitchener Rangers Saturday night at the Dort Federal Event Center. Flint (20-38-4-2, 9th Western Conference) faces off against Kitchener (41-15-5-2, 4th Western Conference) for the fourth time this season with the Rangers holding a 3-1 series lead. Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m. (EST) and Saturday night is "overager night" as the Flint Firebirds will honor Zack Pittman and Connor Sills prior to puck drop. The game vs. Kitchener is also "Selfie Jersey Night," where the Firebirds will be wearing special jerseys that are covered with more than 250 submitted selfie pictures from Firebirds' fans. The jerseys will be auctioned off online on the Firebirds Foundation ebay page here.

Earlier this season, the Firebirds earned a 3-2 road victory over the Kitchener Rangers on Friday, Feb. 12th (Watch Highlights). Prior to Flint's victory in Kitchener, the Firebirds fell to the Rangers 5-3 before a capacity crowd of more than 7,200 fans at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium on Sunday, Jan. 24 (Watch Highlights).

The Rangers are 4-4-0-2 in their last 10 games and are 1-4 in their past five tilts. Kitchener is ranked eighth out of 60 teams in the CHL in the BMO CHL Top-10 Rankings which are selected by a panel of National Hockey League scouts every week.

Radio & TV Coverage

Fans unable to attend Saturday's game can listen live in Flint and Mid-Michigan on 1330 AM WTRX Sports Radio and around the world online on the iHeartRadio app. Dominic Hennig will call the play-by-play action on the Flint Firebirds Hockey Radio Network. Pregame coverage will begin at 7:00 p.m.

Saturday's game against the Rangers will also be televised live in Kitchener on channel 20 for Rogers TV cable subscribers. In addition, the game will be televised live across the province of Ontario on the OHL Action Pak on cable channel 461. OHL fans with cable television in Ontario can add the OHL Action Pak to their television plan to catch the Firebirds in action, home or away all season long. Along with Saturday's game, 64 of the Firebirds' 68 games throughout the 2015-16 season are also scheduled to be televised live across the province of Ontario on the OHL Action Pak.
