March 12, 2016 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Erie Otters News Release

With the win against the Guelph Storm the Erie Otters are the first team in OHL history with three consecutive 50 win seasons.

Following a penalty kill in the first period Erik Cernak unloaded a clapper from the point that sizzled past Bradley Van Schubert to put Erie up 1-0.

In the middle of the second period Matt Hotchkiss scored for the Storm after an avoidable turnover by Darren Raddysh in the Otters end. Three minutes later Givani Smith lifted a puck past Jake Lawr on a shorthanded breakaway to put Guelph ahead 2-1.

Just over three minutes into the final period Alex DeBrincat riffled a puck off a Storm defender that slipped by Van Schubert to tie the contest and give him his 100th career tally. At the seven minute mark of the third Dylan Strome logged his 35th goal of campaign to give Erie the lead. At the midway point of the period Liam Steven leveled the game at three. Later in the stanza Taylor Raddysh came streaking down the ice and snuck a puck by the Storm goaltender to put Erie back on top. With less than a minute remaining in regulation Strome let loose a wicked wrist shot that Van Schubert had no chance stopping to secure a 5-3 win.

The Otters have three games remaining on their regular season schedule. They will start their three games in three days on the 17th at 7:00 p.m. when the Owen Sound Attack come to town.
