Flint Firebirds News Release

Flint, Mich. - The Flint Firebirds host the Kitchener Rangers Wednesday evening for the Firebirds' annual 'Stuff the Truck Night.' Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. (ET) at the Dort Federal Credit Union Event Center.

Wednesday marks the third of four meetings between the two clubs and the second of two at the Dort Federal Credit Union Event Center this season. Last year, Flint went 1-2-1-0 against Kitchener with all four matches being decided by two or fewer goals. All-time, the Firebirds are 4-8-2-0 against the Rangers and are 1-5-1-0 against Kitchener on home ice. On opening night in Kitchener this season, the Rangers got the upper hand on their home ice, defeating the 'Birds 6-2 (Watch Highlights). On October 13 the Rangers skated away with a 6 - 3 victory at the Dort Federal Event Center, taking the first two games of the season series.

Most recently, Flint fell to the Attack in Owen Sound on Saturday night. Riley McCourt and Jack Phibbs each picked up their second goal of the season in the contest. Goaltender Emanuel Vella stopped 45 of the Attack's 48 shots to keep his troops within striking distance until a pair of empty-netters sealed Owen Sound's 5-2 victory. The Rangers played last night, falling 7-4 on home ice to the Sarnia Sting.
