Guelph Storm News Release
The Guelph Storm are proud to announce that the special commemorative jerseys worn during the game vs. the Barrie Colts on November 9th brought in a total of more than $7,500 through our online auction. Forward Nate Schnarr's jersey went for the highest at $530.00.
The one-of-a-kind jerseys commemorated Canadian veterans, with specific reference to Guelph's own proud history honouring Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae. Always remembered in his hometown of Guelph with the conversion of his family home into the McCrae House Museum, the Guelph Storm are honoured to recognize the local, national and worldwide legacy of Lieutenant John McCrae exactly one hundred years after his passing.
All net proceeds from the sale of these jerseys will be donated to the Guelph, Fergus and Elora Legions. Along with the cash donation, the Storm also donated a jersey to McCrae House museum and two jerseys to Guelph's Royal Canadian Legion Colonel John McCrae Memorial Branch 234.
The Storm would like to thank those who purchased a jersey and participated in the auction.
