
Predators Sign Scatchard

Milwaukee, WI- Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has signed free-agent forward Dave Scatchard (SKAT-chuhrd) to a one-year, two-way contract and has assigned him to the Milwaukee Admirals.
Scatchard is no stranger to the Admirals, having posted a goal and two assists in eight games for the team in 2007-08. The Hinton, AB native brings a wealth of NHL experience to the Ads, having skated in over 600 career games in nine seasons for the Vancouver Canucks, New York Islanders, Boston Bruins, and Phoenix Coyotes. He has picked up 125 goals and 138 assists for 263 points and 1017 penalty minutes in 635 total games. In addition, he has collected four points (2g-2a) in 17 Stanley Cup Playoff contests, all with the Islanders.
Originally Vancouver's second pick in the 1994 NHL Draft, Scatchard has played in 80 games or more in a season four times, including three straight campaigns with the Islanders from 2000-2003. His most productive season, from a goal-scoring stand point came in 2002-03 when he potted 27 goals to go along with 18 assists for New York. He also totaled 45 points (21g-24a) during the 2000-01 season.
The Admirals are back in action on Friday, October 9 at 7:00 pm when they travel to Peoria to face the Rivermen. The Ads home opener is slated for October 24, at 7:00 pm versus the Manitoba Moose at the Bradley Center.
