The Bloomington PrairieThunder was hurt by special teams play, giving up two shorthanded goals and a powerplay goal, and lost to the Memphis RiverKings 4-1 on Tuesday night in the Memphis suburb of Southaven, Mississippi. Nathan Lutz scored twice for the RiverKings who improved to 13-12-1.

Bloomington heads home on Wednesday night to play the RiverKings again in the second game of the home and home series.
