Dayton's Jeff Jakaitis Named Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week

TEMPE, AZ (December 21, 2010) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Dayton's Jeff Jakaitis has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Goaltender of the Week for the period ending December 19, 2010.

CHL Goaltending Leaders

Jakaitis won a pair of road games during the week shutting out Bloomington on Friday and stopping Fort Wayne, 3-2, on Saturday. The Rochester, Minnesota native turned away 76 of 78 shots in the two games boasting a 1.00 goals against average. On Friday, Jakaitis made 44 saves in his team's 4-0 win (including a perfect 22 save second period). He followed that up in Fort Wayne with 32 saves in the Gems 3-2 victory.

On the season, the 5-10, 165-pound netminder is tied for fifth in the league with a 2.56 goals against average and is ranked second with a .929 save percentage. His 10-7-1 record has helped the Gems keep pace in the Turner Conference sitting tied for fourth just five points out of first place.
